Affordable DIY | Marble Tray

I don't know when it happened, but marble suddenly became a very popular texture. I've been seeing laptop covers, blog background pictures, plates and trays, like this one. You can purchase the cute trays and plates as room decor for your room, but stores like Target and other places have it for a pretty steep price.

Then I stumbled upon this DIY of a marble tray and it seemed like the most simple idea. I did this whole project for under $20, but you might already have some of these items at home. It requires only 15 minutes to do the project, and then a few hours for drying time.

I won't take any credit for this! Below I added the original YouTube video I found this. I wanted to share this with you because it's super easy and inexpensive! You can also check it out here.

Here are the items you will need:

A marble tile- Have fun with this! Go to Home Depot or a tile store and look at the different sizes, weights and patterns and pick the one that you love the most!
Drawer pulls- Again, this is all up to you! Play around with the different sizes and colors until you find something you want!
4 felt pads- These are to stick on the bottom of the tile so it doesn't damage any surface you put it on
Epoxy glue- This is to glue on the handles to make sure they are sturdy
Cheap paint brush/Plastic Bowl/Masking Tape

The rest is super self-explanatory in the video!

Will you try this DIY? Let me know how it turns out!

  2. I never thought of using a marble tile! I covered a piece of A3 card in marble vinyl for taking photographs on, works perfectly and cost next to nothing. x

  12. It's so funny you mention this because I do the exact same thing! I just grab a nice marble tile and it's so much easier (and cheaper) than buying a marble pastry board or something!

  23. This is awesome! I know what you mean, suddenly Marble became like the IT thing. My parents used to have a marble floor and they changed it so selfishly, how perfect would that have been for instagram photos *sigh* - this is so cool unfortunately I'm an absolute mess at DIY and mess even the simplest things up! xx
