Morphe Brushes Review | Worth The Hype?

There is one thing I love, and it's makeup brushes. I love finding new and affordable brands that are just as good, or even better than brands like MAC or Sephora. Most of my brush collection consists of Sigma, Real Techniques and elf. Sigma is the only expensive brush brand I would buy, but after discovering Morphe I know that those Sigma brushes are very dupe-able.

I don't know about you but I first heard about Morphe brushes from my YouTube fave, Jaclyn Hill. After she starting raving about this new brand called Morphe I did my research. I looked online and the selection was great, but I knew I was attending IMATS in NY a few weeks later so I decided to wait until then. At IMATS I picked up a few brushes. They were all super discounted, and what I loved was that I was able to see and feel the brushes before I bought them. I got:

  • M562- This is a small fluffy white brush that is perfect for applying and blending color in the crease
  • B11 - This is your basic small angled brush, but the price of around only $2 is what made me want to try this. It's the perfect size for gel liner or with powder to fill in your brows.
  • M500 - This brush is very unique! It's a tapered face brush that is very fluffy and has very little density. I love using this to lightly apply bronzer on the face, or to apply a light highlight like the Hourglass powders.
  • M505 - This is a fluffy tapered eye brush that I love to use to apply color in the crease of my eye
  • G24 - When I went to IMATS the Gunmetal line from Morphe was brand new and very hyped. Sadly, by the time I got there many of the face brushes were gone. But I picked up this duo fiber fluffy eye brush that I love using to blend out my eye looks.

After trying and loving these brushes I did some research online for some other brushes people were loving so I decided to make another order. I got:

  • E8- This is labeled as a small contour brush. This is a brush from the Elite collection so it is all vegan and very very soft. Originally I wasn't sure what to use this for, but I've come to love using this to apply the ColourPop blushes to my cheeks. It picks up the product beautifully and the small brush gives me enough control as to where I want to place the product.
  • G2- Like I mentioned before, the Gunmetal line was raved about so this time around I wanted to try a face product. I love this for its many uses. First, it's a very dense pointed brush. It's great for applying powder under the eyes, blending out concealer or foundation.
  • M438- This is my all time favorite brush from Morphe. I've heard it's very similar to Sigma's small tapered brush and it's a fraction of the price. The soft pointed bristles are perfect for applying highlighter or powder under the eyes.

As for the overall use of these brushes? They are all super soft, clean nicely (I have washed them multiple times) and I never had any issues with shedding. The only one that sheds sometimes is the E500, but not to the point where I find the black hairs on my face.

So the final question, are they worth the hype? Yes, I believe they are. They have a large range of brushes from natural, to vegan, to synthetic. They are a very affordable brand that offers great and comparable products.

You can check out the Morphe website here.

Have you tried Morphe brushes? Do you think they are worth the hype?

  1. They sound great! I don't have any expensive brushes (to be honest, I use my fingers for foundation half the time and don't often do anything interesting with eye shadow so I don't need like *really* good brushes), I think there are so many affordable ones out there it's not really necessary to spend 10x the price!
