Review + Swatches | Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector in Opal

Hello lovelies! Today's post is going to be a review on the Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector in Opal. This is a VERY exciting post for me because everyone raves about Becca's highlighters and I finally was able to try it for myself!

Last year during the holiday season I bought Becca's Shimmering Skin Perfector Spotlight Trio, which came with three mini liquid highlighters. And I love them! They look beautiful mixed into foundations or on top of your makeup. But that's not what this post is about!

When you look at my photos you might think, "Um this looks a little weird, doesn't Becca's highlighters have different packaging?" Yes, yes they do. I only have a mini size which I got in the Sephora Favorite Bronze Bared All set. The size I got is .085oz which is 3x less than the full size which is .25 oz. For me, this is not an issue because who finishes an entire sample of a highlighter or powder? Definitely not this girl!

On to the product itself! This can definitely go a long way. I'm not a highlight obsessed person so I very lightly tap my brush in and then tap is again on my hand to get off extra product on the brush. The texture if very soft and you don't feel grits of glitter or product when you swatch it.

The color I would describe to be more on the golden side. I have super fair skin and I find this to be a great shade. And my favorite part about this product is when you look at head on it doesn't look shimmery. But when you turn your head into the light it gives the most gorgeous glow! I also have oily skin and I don't find this makes my pores look bigger, and it definitely doesn't give an oily appearance.

I've only had this highlight for a few months but it has become a staple item for me. I love it for everyday, and the best part is that it can double as an eyeshadow. I think for some people, yeah, this might be a little too intense. But once you give it a try and use a light hand, you'll see that it's a very user friendly product.

Review + Swatches | Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector in OpalThis picture I posted doesn't give the product justice! It appears to have a very intense gold color, but when it is applied with a lighter hand it is not as intensely gold.

  8. Oh no, now I want Pearl, Champagne Pop AND Opal. So pretty! I love getting smaller samples of highlighters to try too because I never use a full one - I've got a MAC Soft & Gentle that's still going strong after over a year!

  9. I am a bit of a BECCA highlighter junkie, and the only one I don't currently own is this one! It's so pretty, but I feel like Champagne Pop is close enough that I can get away with not buying it. SO pretty though!

  14. I really want to try this, but in Moonstone. I prefer white highlighters over gold toned ones for me personally.

  26. I saw this mini at Sephora and I think I might give it a go! Definitely a lot cheaper than buying the full-size for now - I like the colour and it looks like everyone loves them too! Have you tried the liquid version?
