Drugstore Makeup ACTUALLY Worth the Hype

Happy Sunday everyone! On my blog I love sharing my favorite products, but I don't think I've ever shared a drugstore-worth-the-hype type post. All of the products I will be talking about today are very hyped up on YouTube and on blogs, but sometimes you wonder if they are really worth it. These are products I have tried and loved, and can honestly tell you, 100% that they are worth the hype. If you like these posts I did one a while ago on high-end products, give it a read!

Dissapointing Products #1 | Makeup That Just Didn't Work

Dissapointing Products #1 | Makeup That Just Didn't Work | Tarte Amazonian Clay Full Coverage Airbrush Foundation LA Girl HD Pro Concealer Covergirl Katy Kat Eye Mascara Urban Decay Perversion Mascara NARS Blush in 'Orgasm' NYX Baked Blush in Spanish RoseI have been putting off a post like this for a long time. On my blog I love, love, love, talking about all the makeup I love and sharing my favorite products. But amongst all the good products, there are some products I try and try, but they do not work for me. I'm going to give the same shpiel everyone else gives before a disappointing products post or video: these are products that did not work for ME. If this is one of your favorite products then yay! I am so happy you love it! But we also have different beauty preferences, skin tones, and skin types, so there will always be products some people love, while other people hate it. If you do love any of these products, please let me know in the comments! I would love to hear your thoughts.

I want to apologize for the lack of posts recently! My inspiration and motivation has been basically zero these past couple of weeks, and between work and school, sitting down to write posts has been really difficult. But I've been trying to get back into it, so if you guys have any posts to help get me motivated again, please let me know in the comment section or tweet me!

Now on to the real topic of this post, I will be sharing my most recent MOTD for fall! I love fall for the cooler weather, sweaters, boots, and of course those mauve tone shades that come back into my makeup routine. In this post specifically I wanted to share the higher-end products I have been loving recently. Many of these products I reviewed recently on my blog, so I wanted to show you them in action.

Lorac Mega Pro 3 Palette | Review + Swatches
I have been on a real Lorac eyeshadow kick recently! I've been trying out the Lorac Unzipped and the Lorac Pro 3 palettes, both of which I've reviewed on my blog. And today I will be talking about the Lorac Mega Pro 3 Palette ($59, Ulta). The holiday season is right around the corner, and this year I feel like brands are coming out with their holiday products earlier this year. Lorac has been coming out with these Mega Pro palettes for the past two years, and I think they do an amazing job every year.

Anastasia Beverly Hills Stick Foundation in 'Ivory' | Review
Hello lovelies! Today I will be sharing my thoughts on a new foundation I've been trying, and it is the Anastasia Beverly Hills Stick Foundation. This is a newer foundation so I'm really excited to share my thoughts. Anastasia Beverly Hills only used to only be known for their brow products, but over the past few years they've released so many products, like eyeshadow palettes and highlighters, and now foundations!

Like many other people I'm super excited for fall, for the leaves, cooler weather, darker tones and PSL! But there have been many items I have loved this month, so I will be sharing my beauty favorites this past month. I've been trying many new products so I can't wait to share my thoughts with all of you!

Affordable Props for Your Blog Photos | The 'Blogging' Feed

Hi  everyone! I have another blogging post today! I have been trying really hard recently to improve my blog photos. A lot of it has to do with lighting, but I think the props and the layout of your photos also make a huge difference. But getting props can sometimes be expensive! So the past few months, while I've been improving my photos, I've been on the hunt for affordable background items. Below I share some of my favorites I've found, and please share in the comments your favorite affordable props!

Nanshy Brushes | Vegan & Cruelty Free! | Review*

Hello beaut's! I have another brush review for you today and it's from the brand Nanshy. I heard so many amazing things about Nanshy brushes from Twitter and Instagram, so I was super thankful when they sent me a package of brushes to try. I think many of you would love to try some NAnshy brushes because they are 100% vegan, cruelty-free and PETA registered.

Lorac Illuminating Highlighters in 'Starlight' & 'Moonlight', and Buildable Blush in 'Tinge' | Review + Swatches
Happy Sunday everyone! Today I wanted to share with you a review on a range of products I've been using recently. On my blog I really like sharing my thoughts on more 'unknown' products. People tend to talk about the same things, but I love trying new products and sharing my thoughts on the blog. I feel like most people know about Lorac as a brand because of their shadows, but I've been using their blushes and highlighters recently and have really been enjoying them. I have their Illuminating Highlighters in 'Starlight' & 'Moonlight', and their Buildable Blush in 'Tinge'

Tarte Shape Tape Concealer Review | Is it Worth the Hype?

Tarte Shape Tape Concealer Review | Is it Worth the Hype?If  you've been reading my blog recently then you would think I have a serious obsession with the Tarte Shape concealer. This is a newer product to Tarte, and it is exclusively sold at Ulta for $26. I apologize in advance to everyone that this might be out of stock! I had a hard time getting mine, but I was lucky enough to find my shades in store. Basically, if you're too lazy to read this post, the Tarte Shape concealer is definitely worth the hype. But if you want to know why, then keep reading!

Jaclyn Hill Ride or Die Tag

Jaclyn Hill Ride or Die Tag
Hi  everyone! I have a super exciting post today! As I am sure all of you know, I love Jaclyn Hill. I think she is a true role model and an amazing makeup artist. When she created the Ride or Die Tag, I knew I had to try it! I actually did a similar tag on my blog, called The Only and Only, but some of my holy grail products have changed, and who doesn't love reading these posts?

Hello everyone! For today's post, I am going to be sharing my Minimal Makeup Routine. I'm sure many of you have a routine very similar to mine. There are days, whether it's for work or school, that you want to wear makeup, but might not have the time to apply a full face. Or maybe, you just like a look that truly is 'minimal' and seems almost as if you are not wearing any makeup.

Spectrum Collections | 4 Piece Contour Face Set*

Spectrum Brushes | 4 Piece Contour Face SetHello lovelies! I have a super exciting post to share with you today! Spectrum Collections was super nice and sent me the 4 Piece Contour Face Set* to try. I was intrigued by Spectrum Collections as a brand because they are PETA (People for Ethical Treatment of Animals) registered and vegan free. These are things that I don't particularly look for in brands, but it's definitely a positive, and great for those of you who exclusively look for PETA and vegan products.

Lorac Unzipped Palette | Review + Swatches

Lorac Unzipped Palette | Review + Swatches
If I had to pick my favorite type of makeup product, it would probably be palettes. Especially eyeshadow palettes! I just love the idea of having everything in one product, and each palette just looks so different from one another. That's how I justified buying the Lorac Unzipped Palette. So many people having been raving about this, but I never thought it was a palette I needed in my collection. I have 2/3 of the Lorac pro palettes, and that was good enough for me. But when  I swatched this beauty at Ulta, the pigmentation was so amazing, I knew I had to own it.

So, I wanted to follow up that post with a drugstore edition. Highlighters have become huge in the makeup world recently, and like everything else makeup-related, you don't have to spend a lot to get amazing makeup. All of these products might not be available in the drugstore, but they are all drugstore prices and very affordable!

Wow, I can't believe it's September already! This summer has literally flown by and I can't believe fall is slowly upon us! I love fall because the weather gets so much cooler and you can't get enough of apple and pumpkin spiced everything (candles, drinks, ect.)! It's unfortunate that the summer is over though, because that means back to real life, for us still in school. Well, for now I'll share with you guys what I have been loving this month to end off the summer!

Current Beauty Tryouts #2 | Morphe MB Brushes, 15CON, 9BZ and 35N Palettes*

Hello lovelies! I am back today with another 'Currently Trying' post. I love doing these posts because I can share with you guys my thoughts on products I am currently trying, just in case they never make it to a review or favorites post. Today, I am sharing with you some products I received from Morphe to try. If you've been reading my blog for a while, then you know I love Morphe's products. I did a post about their brushes, and I also did a full review on their famous 35O palette. So far I have loved everything I've tried so I was very excited to try out these new products! Although I appreciate that Morphe sent me all these products, my thoughts on these products are my own and totally unbiased. So let's begin!

As a beauty blogger, there are many products I talk about on my blog, some of them I hate, and others I love. Also as a reader, many bloggers talk about new and old makeup products. There are so many amazing products are there, and a lot of them get very hyped up, whether it's on a blog or on YouTube. Today, I'm sharing my personal high-end products that I think are worth the hype. These are products that are very hyped up on the internet, but for good reason. I love all of these products and if I ever finish them, I will be very quick to run out and repurchase it.

I shared on Instagram last week that I received my Sephora Play Box this month, and now I'm going to share what I got inside! The Sephora Play Box is a subscription service from Sephora for $10 a month, and you get 5-7 deluxe samples, a cute drawstring bag and an insert telling you all about the products inside. I love this month's bag! The wink is super cute and I will definitely find a use for this.

I think primers make a huge difference in the way my makeup looks, feels and applies on the skin. I feel like a few years ago primer wasn't even a 'thing', but here we are with so many different types of primers that do so many things. Currently in my collection I have high-end and drugstore primers, that range from smoothing, to mattifying to pore minimizing. I have oily skin and large pores, so you won't be seeing any hydrating products in my collection. I mostly need a primer to help keep my matte and help my makeup stay on all day. Please let me know in the comments what your favorites primers are so I can check them out!

For that, I have my go-to travel palettes, whether it's an all-in-one eyeshadow palette, a complete face palette, or a face/eye palette to really get the job done.

I'm sure, like many of you, I have so many mascaras opened at the same time. In my opinion, mascaras are the products that go the fastest. So I am constantly opening and trying new mascaras. Currently, in my opened-mascara-collection, I have a mix of high end and drugstore mascaras, and I also have some primers/top coats I am currently using. I also thought I would mix up this post a little and divide the mascaras by the Good, Bad and Ugly. Some of these mascaras are my holy grail, while others I will definitely be trashing after writing this post. Keep reading for all the details!

Everyday Summer Makeup Look | Long Wearing + Sweatproof
Happy Sunday everyone! With the summer coming to an end (sadly!), I wanted to share my sweatproof makeup look. Now, this isn't a look to wear to the beach or the pool. I tend to have oily skin, and when it's hot, I sweat like no other, so these are products are 'tried and true' that work for my skin.

Bored? Here Are 7 Thing You Can Do to Improve Your Blog

Hello everyone! It has been quite a while since I've done a blogging tips post! I've been in summer vacation mode the past few months, since I haven't been able to find a job this summer (thank you college degree!), so I've been spending a lot of time working on my blog. I've been trying to keep myself busy outside of the house, but there have been many lazy days I've spent working on my blog. If you're bored, like me here are 7 tips/things I've done to help improve my blog.

Nordstrom Sale Haul | Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing Gel and MAC 'Look in a Box- Sunblessed' | #NSale

Hello all! I posted a couple of weeks ago some upcoming deals for the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale, and today I wanted to share with you a mini haul! In that post, I mentioned many items on my wishlist, and also some of my personal recommendations. I actually picked up one item from each of those lists, and I've very excited to tell you about them!

I don't shop much as Nordstrom, but I love that they have free shipping on every order. Also, since I signed up for their Nordstrom rewards program before July 10th, I was able to get a $10 off coupon to use during the sale. I also built up points on this purchase, which will go towards another $20 coupon when I reach 2,000 points.

Colourpop Ultra Glossy Lip in 'Fairy Floss' and 'Tight Fit' | Review + Swatches

Hello! I am back today to review the new Colourpop Ultra Glossy Lips (AKA lipglosses). Colourpop as a brand has been making a huge presence in the makeup community for the past year or so, and are constantly coming out with new products. Their products are so amazing and affordable that I always try to pick up some things when they release new products. I mentioned these new lip glosses on my Instagram when I first got the package in the mail- I couldn't contain my excitement! I've been trying these two shades for a week or so and I think I can safely say that I can give my thoughts.

I can't believe July is over! This month has really flown by, and with that, I have many favorites to share with you. July was really a great month because I got to do some traveling, it was my birthday month and I spent a lot of time with friends and family. Many of my favorites this month are basic products I use and love every day, but never seem to mention in any of my posts. Some of these products, as I will mention, are my holy grail products that I use every single time I do my makeup.

Best Drugstore Eyeshadow Palette? | Milani 'Must Have Naturals' Eyeshadow Palette Review
If you know me and my blog, then you know that I have very strong feelings towards drugstore eyeshadows. Probably 95% of my eyeshadows are high end because I feel like drugstore eyeshadows and palettes always disappoint me. But, surprisingly, the Milani 'Must Have Naturals' Eyeshadow Palette really impressed me.

Becca x Jaclyn Hill Champagne Splits Shimmering Skin Perfector Mineral Blush Duo | Prosecco Pop and Pamplemousse | Review + Swatches
If you've been reading my blog for a while then you know that I am a huge Jaclyn Hill fan. When she came out with 'Champagne Pop' with Becca, I was obsessed. 'Champagne Pop' today is one of my all time favorite highlighters, and to be honest, I would buy almost anything with Jaclyn Hill's name on it. When Jaclyn came out with her collection with Becca, the face palette they created was not something I was ready to spend the money on. It was a gorgeous palette, but I didn't feel like I needed a huge palette for $52. But when they came out with the split pans, I was stoked! I really wanted to try 'Prosecco Pop' (the second highlighter Jaclyn created with Becca) and Becca's mineral blushes. Today, I will be reviewing the Splits Shimmering Skin Perfector Mineral Blush Duo in 'Prosecco Pop' and 'Pamplemousse'.

Sephora Play Box | July 2016

Sephora Play Box | July 2016

If there is one beauty subscription I would recommend to all of you, it would be Sephora Play Box. For a flat fee of $10 a month, you will get five deluxe samples, plus a bonus fragrance sample. How could you possibly go wrong? It took a while for the Sephora Play Box subscription to open up to everyone, so July's box will be my third box, and I thought I would share with you what I got! For me, each month gets better and better, so this box is by far the best.

Mini Brows | Benefit Brow Collection Review | Worth The Hype?

Mini Brows | Benefit Brow Collection Review | Benefit Goof Proof Eyebrow Pencil Benefit Browvo! Conditioning Eyebrow Primer Benefit Ka-Brow! Eyebrow Cream-Gel Color
Hello everyone! I'm sure everyone and their mother has been hearing about Benefit's new brow products. In the past month or so Benefit has relaunched their entire brow line, and all beauty lovers have been going crazy over it.

Yes, the packaging is probably the cutest you can get with a brow product, but to me, there didn't seem to be anything revolutionary. Like many other makeup brands, they had brow pencils, tinted gels and a pomade.

Nordstrom Anniversary Sale | My Beauty Picks + Wishlist | #NSale

The Nordstrom Anniversary sale (#NSale) has begun! Who doesn't love a good makeup sale? Along with the many clothing, shoes and accessories, there are many amazing deals on makeup. If you're a Nordstrom Card holder then the sale already started for you, but for everyone else, the deals begin on July 22nd and end on August 8th.

Travel Essentials | Beauty and More

Travel Essentials | Beauty and More
Good day everyone!

I have come to hate traveling a little less the past few years. It's the worst when I have to travel alone, anyone else feel like this?? I think the reason why I don't mind traveling as much is because I have my set routine of how I pack and I know exactly what I'll need on the plane. I get to my seat, settle in, put on some music, and try to sleep as much as possible!

I am away traveling this week and in honor of that, I thought I would do a travel-themed post. This time around I will be flying and there are certain things I like to have with me when I fly. Of course this is not everything I have with me when I travel- I always overpack my carry on! But these are my essentials that I cannot travel without.

My Liquid Lipstick Collection

My favorite liquid lipsticks: Too Faced Melted Matte Liquified Long Wear Lipstick in 'Child Star' Revlon Colorstay Ultimate Liquid Lipstick in 'Iconic Iris' Tarte Creamy Matte Lip Paint in 'Namaste' Colourpop Matte Lip in 'Trap' Colour Satin Lip in 'Littlestitious' Colourpop Matte Lip in 'Midi' NYX Lingerie Liquid Lipstick in 'Lace Detail' Revlon Ultra HD Matte in 'Seduction'
Let's face it, liquid lipstick has become a huge trend this year. As a result, I have built up quite a collection. Now it's all about the metallic lip, but I've yet to try any! I've been trying out many different formulas, so I thought I would share my thoughts on the ones I have in my collection.

P.S how is everyone feeling about my new photo background? I'm still working on the lighting and the product arrangement.

Review | Lorac Pro 3 Palette

Hello! If you love Lorac shadows, I hope you're excited to read this post! The Lorac Pro 3 palette is a new item out this month, and when I saw these shades, I knew I had to have it. The shades in the Lorac Pro 2 palette were not really up my ally, but I instantly fell in love with this palette when I saw it online. The Lorac Pro shadows have never disappointed me, and this one is no different.

The Esteé Edit | Influenster Unboxing: Flash Illuminator in 'Sun Light 04' Beam Team Hydrate + Glow The Barest Lip Color in 'Nude Mauve' Pore Vanishing Stick

I am so excited to be sharing this post with you guys today! I've been part of Influenster for a few months now and I never thought I would have the chance to receive a box like this. For those of you who don't know what Influenster is, it's a website where you fill out surveys about food, beauty and health. They then have different boxes/campaigns that they will send you for free to try if they think you are a good match. So when I saw I would be receiving a boxed filled with The Esteé Edit products by Esteé Lauder, I was ecstatic! This is my first time trying something from this line, and I can't wait to try more!

Wow, it has been forever since I've posted. But I am back! Sadly, life gets in the way and blogging can become a second, fifth, tenth, or even fiftieth priority. I've missed blogging so much this past month and a half, and although I'm still not sure about how consistent my posting schedule will be, I will try to get something up as often as possible. Now onto the fun stuff: I will be sharing some of my essentials I have to keep with me at all times during the hot summer months.

Review | Gerard Cosmetics Color Your Smile Lighted Lip Gloss in Nude and Butter Cream and Lipstick in Buttercup

I have been loving Instagram recently and all over my feed I've been seeing Gerard Cosmetics. I heard about the brand from Jaclyn Hill a few years ago, and I've known them as the brand with the lighted lipglosses. After seeing many raving reviews and their beautiful products on Instagram, I decided to make an order.

Review | Make Up For Ever Ultra HD Invisible Cover Foundation | The Foundation Everyone Needs in Their Collection

If you know anything about me when it comes to makeup, you would know that I pretty pale and I can be cheap when it comes to buying high-end makeup. I am not one to splurge on makeup from Sephora unless it's something really amazing. If there is one foundation I could recommend to everyone, it would be this one. The Make Up For Ever Ultra HD Invisible Cover Foundation, in my opinion, is a foundation that can work for any skin type and skin color.

My Brush Cleaning Routine

My Brush Cleaning Routine | How I clean my makeup brushes with the Sigma Spa Glove and Johnson's Baby Shampoo

Does anyone else hate cleaning their makeup brushes? When my brushes get super dirty I know I have to clean them, but I find every excuse not to. Even though I have a really easy and amazing routine for cleaning my brushes, the struggle is so real. Do any of you understand me?!?

Review | Morphe Single Eyeshadows | $2 A Piece!

Review | Morphe Single Eyeshadows | $2 A Piece!
If you've been reading my blog for a while then you know that I love Morphe's eyeshadows. I did a review on the 35O palette and I am still obsessed with it! Their palettes are a great value and the pigmentation is amazing, but how are their single eyeshadows? They sell single eyeshadows for $2.29 which is still cheaper and almost half the price of Makeup Geek shadows.

My 5 Blogging Mistakes

You may have read many, many, blogging mistakes post. I've been blogging for a few years now, and I've found that as people become more established with their blog they like to share lessons they have learned over the years. For me, there are 5 mistakes I think I made when I started blogging. I am not here to tell you that these are mistakes you might be making too, it's my own personal thoughts. Only you can decide for yourself after gaining experience in the blogging world what your "mistakes" are.

Review | New at the Drugstore | Covergirl Nudes Palette

Review | New at the Drugstore | Covergirl Nudes Palette
I'm not gonna lie, I hate drugstore eyeshadow palettes. These from Covergirl, Maybelline and L'oreal always seem to disappoint. I always read reviews before I make a purchase, and drugstore palette never seem to live up to my standards. Granted, they are cheaper and should not expect them to be as good as my Urban Decay palettes. But still! I want to buy a palette that actually has pigmentation.

I think almost everyone reading this post has heard/seen the Nars Orgasm blush- it's basically a cult favorite. When I first entered the beauty world it was the blush everyone raved about and loved, so naturally I had to get it. Contouring for Fair Skin

Contouring for Fair Skin
I'm not going to lie, I used to be terrified of contouring. Espeically as a fair-skin girl, I always had this fear of looking dirty, muddy or just straight up orange. I've been coming out of my comfort zone and I've found three products that work great for my fair skin. They range from drugstore to high-end, so I think everyone will be able to find one of the products could work for them!
