Drugstore Gems | Updated Favorite Drugstore Powders and Foundations

the best affordable drugsore foundations and powders.jpg

Good morning lovelies! If there is one thing I love, it's a drugstore gem. I am more inclined to buy drugstore items because of the affordable price tags, and I get super excited when I find a new holy grail item. Is this only me? Okay, let's move on!

Today, I will be sharing my updated drugstore powders and foundations. These are not my only drugstore gems, I did a post like this a while back and those are still some of my favorites. But I thought, given new drugstore releases, I would share some of my new and current favorite drugstore powders and foundations.

Powders
First up is my oldest drugstore powder, and is a rediscovered favorite. It is the L'oreal True Match Super-Blendable powder. Guys, you need to go out and try this! The powder is super soft, and I mainly love it as a powder foundation. Put some concealer on, buff this is with a flat dense brush, and you are set. This never makes you look cakey, and the coverage is amazing. Aahh I really just love this powder! I think I've bought 4-5 of these in the past few years. I also think this works great for any skin type. I am oily, and I find this works great, but it's not drying so dry skin ladies, you can use this too.

Next, I have a powder which I would only recommend for people with oily skin, and that is the Maybelline Fit Me Matte + Poreless. I like to use this as a setting powder, and it truly is perfect for hiding pores. I dust this with a fluffy powder brush and I am pretty matte all day. Comparing this though to the Rimmel Stay Matte powder, the Maybelline powder can look a little heavier if you apply too much. But I find the Maybelline powder gives more coverage, compared to the Rimmel one.

Foundations
I feel like I have mentioned the Maybelline Fit Me Foundation Matte + Poreless foundation many times before on my blog. I am literally obsessed with this foundation! It matches me perfectly, it stays matte like all day, and it really helps to cover pores. It also has very high coverage, I almost never use a concealer with this, and I find it is very buildable. I'm not sure how this will work for dry skin, but those with oily skin should definitely try this.

The L'oreal Infallible Pro Matte foundation is a foundation I hear so much about from UK and US bloggers, for good reason! L'oreal did a great job in creating this foundation. I wore this foundation to a wedding and it still looked great at the end of the night. Very similar to the Maybelline Fit Me foundation, this keeps me matte all day, has great coverage and matches me perfectly.

Last up is another Maybelline foundation, and it is the Superstay Better Skin foundation. This is a new foundation in Maybelline's collection, and the only reason I picked this up is because I saw they had a super fair shade, 10 Ivory, which I thought would match me. And it does! This is more of a natural looking foundation, which I am more likely to wear on a daily basis. It feels and looks like real skin, and I has a nice glow which I still find works with my oily skin. I actually have a full review on this product if you would like even more information.

    1. Hi Candice. You can try Loreal Tru Match instead... The formula is so soft. Remember to use a moisturizer, perhaps a primer before and then the foundation

  2. Hi. You are so right. I have oily skin too. I've tried Fit Me Matte and Infallible Foundations. They are so good. Both last around 12 hours, maybe more.. Just a midday retouch and thats it.
    I haven't tried Better Skin.
I bought recently, Covergirl 3 in One Foundation for oily skin.. It is so great too. I've noticed I have to retouch on a later time, like at 1-2PM, it lasts a little longer without touch-ups. Since I'm testing this one, I'm using it with Covergirl Ready-Set-Gorgeous Powder Foundation (oil free) even thou it's a "powder foundation" it goes very light. Another time I will use it with the Infallible pro matt powder and with the Milanni Face Powder

  5. I've heard really good things about the Fit Me powder and foundation, will have to try it out. I lean towards high end foundations but I still love the Rimmel Stay Matte powder after all these years!

  6. I think drugstore foundations are really damn good! That's all I use because I don't want to spend $40 for a foundation if I can find an equally good one for about $10. Love the Pro-Matte!
