MOTD | Winter

makeup of the day for winter

Even though winter is coming to an end, it doesn't mean it's too late for a Winter Makeup of the Day (MOTD)! I've done a few of these on my blog before, but I think I want to start doing them every season. With every new season, I find different ways to change up my makeup to make it weather-appropriate. Since it is a little colder out, I try to stick with more moisturizing makeup, and I might even wear heavier makeup on the eyes.
motd for winter and review lorac pro palette and h&m blush

I'm going to go a little out of order here, but for the eyes I used my Lorac Pro palette. The formula in this palette is some of the best I have ever tried. Every single shadow in this is creamy and super pigmented, which makes it last all days on the day. For this look, I use Champagne all over the lid, Taupe in the crease, Sable in the outer-V and White on the brow bone.

For face primer I have really been enjoying the NYX Pore Filler. It's amazing to find a primer that actually minimizes pores. The texture is really weird, it's a white light weight cream. I find you only need a pea size of this to cover the entire face.

The Maybelline Superstay Better Skin foundation is a great foundation for winter because it has a stain finish, so it adds a glow and natural finish to the skin. I have full review you can read for more information!

For my contour, I love the Wet N' Wild Coloricon Contouring Palette in Dulce De Leche. Guys, this palette is huge, it comes with a yellow highlight and it costs only $3! I have a full review, but basically, the shade of this works great for my skin and the it blends really nicely.

For highlight, I love using The Balm Mary Lou Manizer. I'm sure most of you have seen this, but it's a gorgeous golden highlight that can work for any skin tone.

On the brows, I've been trying out the elf Lock on Liner and Brow Cream. The texture of this is really creamy, so it's easy to fill in the brows with an angled brush. This shade works great for my brows, and it also doubles as a cream liner.

glossier pink makeup

For blush, the H&M Blush in Cameo Pink is perfect for every day because it adds a natural pink flush to the cheeks. I have a full review here if you would like to check it out!

My go-to mascara recently has been the Maybelline Lash Sensational. Besides for the adorable pink bottle, this does amazing things for your lashes. I've mentioned this many times on my blog, but for good reason. It adds the perfect amount of volume and length, and it doesn't flake at all during the day.

To finish off my look, I use my holy-grail liquid lipstick, the ColourPop Ultra Matte Lip in Midi. This is the most perfect nude pink lip color I have ever used (swatches here). It's not too brown, or too light, which makes it perfect for my neutral-fair skin tone. It lasts all day, and with the proper prep, it doesn't dry out my lips.

What makeup are you wearing today? How do you change up your makeup for every season?

  2. I wish I was able to get my hands on the H&M products in my local store but they don't stock them! That blush is absolutely gorgeous such a neutral shade without being overly pink toned! I love the Lorac palette and have had my eyes on it for quite a while. I've only heard good things about the pigmentation! xx
