Beauty Blender Products | Worth The Hype?

I am all about beauty trends, but some of them are huge fails and others are a great success. Beauty Blenders are one of those trends I heard about years ago through YouTube. But over the past year I have to come love the Beauty Blender and I wanted to share why YOU will too!

I purchased my first Beauty Blender a year ago and I have fallen in love. It's the perfect tool for any skin type that beautifully blends in liquid, and even powder, products. It can be a little pricey at $20 but there are many ways you can get them for cheaper. I have purchased it through Sephora and Ulta sales at 20% off, Amazon and makeup shows, like IMATS.

I have tried many dupes for the Beauty Blender, including the Real Technique Sponge and other drugstore alternatives. But honestly, they didn't do it for me. I found that the Real Technique sponge is a very close dupe, but it sometimes puffed up weirdly and I felt it didn't do as a nice a job blending in the product.

To use the sponge all you do is squeeze it 15-20 times under the faucet, and then squeeze out the excess water on a towel. Then, you take the product and start bouncing it on your face. The tip of it is also great for getting into smaller areas like around your nose. Since you're wetting it, when you apply the product to your face it soaks up all of the excess so you aren't applying too much and getting cake-face.

I've also recently tried the Beauty Blender Micro Mini. This is the cutest little sponge which I love for blending out under the eyes and around the nose. Do you need this? Not really. It was something I was interested in trying and it's great quality, but I think $18 for two of these might not be worth the price.

When I want to clean my Beauty Blender, I love using the Beauty Blender Solid Cleanser or the Beauty Blender Liquid Cleanser. These are two of the best cleansers I have tried for cleaning my Beauty Blender. The solid is quick and easy because you just swirl it around in the soap bar and it get's clean really fast. The liquid cleanser is amazing for a deep clean and it really makes the sponge look like new.

Although the Beauty Blender is a pricey tool, for me it's worth it because none of the drugstore dupes have been able to live up to the same standard. I seriously don't know how I did my makeup before the Beauty Blender, it just blends in the product so nicely into the skin and makes it look so natural.

Have you tried the Beauty Blender? Do you think it's worth the hype?

  1. I was so close to buying the original beauty blender but the price really put me off. Instead I got the real techniques one and I know what you mean by it going a funny shape, but I do replace them after like 4-5 months, which is still cheaper I guess than buying a beauty blender! The liquid cleanser sounds amazing, I feel as if everyone finds it so difficult to make the sponge look brand new! xx

  2. Despite the price I do think the beauty blender is worth the hype, I've used it for years and can't imagine doing my makeup without it. I've never tried either of those cleansers though, definitely love the sound of them.

  4. I can't live without my Beauty Blender! I used to think they were just overpriced sponges, but since actually trying one I've been hooked! Nothing applies my foundation better.

  5. I've considered buying it so many times, but I prefer using a kabuki brush to apply my make-up. Hopefully I'll get a chance to use it sometime, but I don't think I'll splurge on it just yet! Good to know that it lives up to the hype.

  6. Do you think the cleanser is really worth it? I love my beautyblender, but I have the worst time getting it clean. I was looking into the cleanser, but don't want to spend the money if it's not worth it!

  8. I've never tried an actual BB. I've tried a dupe and the Real Techniques sponge. I've never splurged on the real thing because I prefer using brushes.

  10. Nice! I have yet to use the beauty blender, but I do like the Real Techniques one (especially for the price) and my mom is supposed to be shipping me a MAC sponge (along with shoes I couldn't pack on my suitcase during holiday - LOL).

One day, I will definitely give this sponge a try! I noticed that as I get into my mid-twenties I'm all about skin care and a good base vs eyeshadows so it's definitely on my list to try!

  11. I almost have bought this but would rather spend that $20 on a lipstick. I really like using a brush to apply my foundation but I'm glad to hear this is worth the hype!

  12. I've been using the Real Techniques sponge for a while now, and I've been loving the heck out of it! That being said, I am curious to try the Beauty Blender cause I just got it yesterday. I want to see if it can replace the dupe I've been loving!

  14. I usually go for my Beauty Blender when I have more time on my hands and I'm doing more makeup. I really love using it, the results are so seamless. I also like the solid cleanser for my brushes!

  19. I currently use a brush, but I've been thinking about switching to a beauty blender for awhile. Nice to know it's worth the investment! Do you put it under water again after applying makeup?

  20. I love the Beauty Blender and the cleanser, too. It's my favorite tool for applying foundation, none of the dupes worked as well for me.

  21. I don't own the beauty blender, although, right now I'm sure one from Primark that looks extremely similar to this one! I like the shape, it's just right. Maybe one day I'll adventure to the word of the beauty blender! xxx

  25. YES I love my BeautyBlender and really need to pick up a new one. I want the black one so it doesn't look as dirty haha. It seriously blends out makeup so nicely and love it especially if my skin is dry.

  30. I have the real Beauty Blender and several knock-off. Frankly, in an effort to save $$$ I go on to EBay and buy the blenders from there. I have saved serious money. Also, the knock offs that EBay sells are pretty decent. Just a little tip if you want a Beauty Blender but are low in funds.
