15 Beauty Hacks That Actually Work!

Who doesn't love a good beauty hacks post? I wanted to share with all of you my personal favorite beauty hacks that actually work. These have all been tried and tested by me, and most of them I use on a daily basis.

  1. If you ever get mascara on your eyelid, do NOT try fixing it. Wait until it has totally dried, then take a clean Q-tip and lightly dab it off.
  2. If you are ever in the shower and run out of shaving cream, use conditioner, it works just as well and it hydrates your skin!
  3. If your nail polish ever gets clumpy or dry, add a drop of nail polish remover to thin out the formula.
  4. If your mascara get's dried out, add 1-2 drops of eyedrops to bring it back to its full use.
  5. Put lotion on your hands before you paint your nails. When you get nail polish on the skin around your fingers, it will be really easy to clean up with a Q-tip.
  6. Spray your bobby pins with hairspray before putting them in your hair to keep it from moving.
  7. To make your lipstick last long, after application put a tissue of your lips and tap some translucent powder of it. It will almost mattify the lip color and make it last longer.
  8. Apply vaseline on your wrists before spraying your perfume to make it last longer.
  9. If you have an eyeshadow that isn't so pigmented, spray your brush with a setting spray from Mac or Urban Decay to make the color more intense.
  10. When you're traveling to save space, you can use your bronzer as an eyeshadow crease color. You can also use your highlighter as an all-over-lid color.
  11. Another traveling tip! To prevent your compacts from cracking during travel, put cotton pads/balls inside. This will cushion the product in case it gets knocked around in transit.
  12. If you get foundation on your clothing use shaving cream on the stain. Wash the shirt and it will be as good as new!
  13. Use a white or nude colored eyeliner on your waterline to make your eyes appear brighter and wider.
  14. If your pencil eyeliners are really dry, put them over a flame and they will be super pigmented and creamy.
  15. Want beachy waves in minutes? Put your hair in braids and run over them with a flat iron. Within minutes you will have gorgeous beachy hair!

  8. I use a lot of what you have already suggested, but my favourite is sleeping in french braids to give myself beachy waves. They last so long, and so quick and easy!

  14. Thankyou for sharing these! I've used a couple in the past and they've worked wonders, especially the one about vaseline before applying perfume! Instead of spending a fortune getting my eyebrows done, I use a white eyeliner pencil to draw out the shape I want and pluck around it - works every time! x

  15. I already knew about and do 1,2,5 & 9 but I like the bronzer/highlighter as an eyeshadow!
I've never actually done this before but you can use a pink coloured lipstick as a cream blush and dip a small brush in your mascara to act as a liquid eyeliner if you ever forget to pack everything!

  30. you should never use nail polish remover in nail polish as it doesnt thin down the product it breaks it down!

    1. I've done it many times and it's never ruined my nail polishes. Just make sure you use is when the nail polish is really, really thick, almost to the point of being unusable. xx

  34. Love the beachy hair one. I have never used a cotton pad for my compact, but will use this because I travel a lot. Mine has smashed in the past and I was disappointed.
My one regular hack - I use moisturizer on a q-tip to easily remove the smudged eyeliner. Removes the smudge and adds moisturizer to the eye. Win-win!

  35. I'm surely gonna try the one with the compact and cotton pad. I've destroyed so much of those in recent travels, thank you for that! (: Here's another hack that I like to use, adding a few drops of argan oil or moisturizing serum in your foundation to make it more natural looking and not too cakey.

  37. The mascara trick is so handy and even when I'm not travelling I really like to use some of my bronzers as crease colours, I just find that those shades of brown can work awesome in the crease, sometimes better than regular shadows too.
