Review | New at the Drugstore | Covergirl Nudes Palette
I'm not gonna lie, I hate drugstore eyeshadow palettes. These from Covergirl, Maybelline and L'oreal always seem to disappoint. I always read reviews before I make a purchase, and drugstore palette never seem to live up to my standards. Granted, they are cheaper and should not expect them to be as good as my Urban Decay palettes. But still! I want to buy a palette that actually has pigmentation.

So when I saw a number of raving reviews on this new Covergirl Nudes Palette, I knew it was something I wanted to try! And I have to say, as a palette from the drugstore this is pretty nice! The packaging is sleek, and not bulky. I just wish it had a mirror! The price for this palette with 8 eyeshadows is $10-$12which isn't terrible. You can always find sales and coupons on drugstore items, so you'll never have to pay full price.

Now on to the good stuff! The pigmentation is really great. You can see from the swatches below that they are pretty pigmented, even the lighter shades. The darker shades especially are nicely pigmented. I also enjoy this palette because of the range of shades. I can create a really nice neutral eye, or create something a little more smoky. I always wear a primer with my shadows so the staying power is also pretty nice, and is comparable to my more expensive shadows.

If you're looking for a nice palette from the drugstore I would highly recommend this. Skip over those other palettes from Maybelline and L'oreal and check this out! They also have this palette in Goldens and Roses if you are interested in other kinds of shades. I definitely want to go back and try out the other palettes!

  8. I got the Roses palette and I don't like it. The shadows are very powdery, blend away to nothing, and have so much fall out. It's a shame because the colors are so pretty. I'll keep using it because I have it, but I wouldn't repurchase it.

  11. The shades look really pretty and surprisingly pigmented! I like some drugstore eyeshadow singles, like the L'Oreal Infallible, but usually not the palettes.

  12. Woah that looks insanely pigmented! I have got to check out the Cover Girl Palettes. I tried the Maybelline Smokes Palette thinking it was going to be a great dupe for the Urban Decay Smoky, worst idea ever. The Maybelline palettes are terrible and lack pigmentation. Never again.

  17. I'm glad there are more palettes than ever at the drugstore but nothing that we haven't seen before, am I right? I can't say this palette has a color in it that I don't have a dupe for in my collection.
