Sephora Play Box | July 2016

Sephora Play Box | July 2016

If there is one beauty subscription I would recommend to all of you, it would be Sephora Play Box. For a flat fee of $10 a month, you will get five deluxe samples, plus a bonus fragrance sample. How could you possibly go wrong? It took a while for the Sephora Play Box subscription to open up to everyone, so July's box will be my third box, and I thought I would share with you what I got! For me, each month gets better and better, so this box is by far the best.

With the Play Box each month you get a card which you bring into Sephora and they will teach you how to use the products you received. This month is a little different than the previous boxes because normally everyone gets the same products, but this month they customized it a little bit. Since I put in my profile that I have oily skin, they gave me products like the Smashbox Photo Finish Oil Free Foundation Primer Pore Minimizing and the Too Faced Soleil Matte Bronzer in 'Chocolate'. My sister on the other hand, has dry skin so she got similar, but different, products that work for her.

Each month, the items come in a very cute black and white, themed Sephora box. All of the products come in a cute fabric bag which I love to use when I travel for jewelry and other small items.

Sephora Play Box | July 2016The first thing I got was the Too Faced Soleil Matte Bronzer in 'Chocolate'. This is a product I have tried and loved for many years. I've owned this in 'Milk Chocolate' because I have fair skin. But I find that the 'Chocolate' shade can still work for me if I use a light hand. It smells delicious, and it's the perfect shade for contouring or bronzing the skin (depending on what you like).

The next item I got is the Smashbox Photo Finish Oil Free Foundation Primer Pore Minimizing. I am in love with this! I've used this once, and I find it is so similar to the Benefit Porefessional (which is my holy grail primer). I find that this is a little less oily than the Porefessional. When I applied this, my pore instantly disappeared and my skin was matte all day. I will definitely be buying the full size!

I am not a huge fragrance person, but the Nest 'Citrine' really surprised me. I love how fruity this is, and it smells like it would be perfect for summer. I might not run out to buy this, but it's a nice sample to try.

For skincare, I got the First Aid Beauty Skin Rescue Deep Cleanser With Red Clay. I've tried this face wash in the past and I love it. It works great with my oily skin, and it doesn't have a scent or feel harsh on my skin.

The best product I received this month is the Beauty Blender Blotterazzi. I already own the full size of this, and to get another sponge is amazing! Basically, this replaces blotting papers with a sponge which you can use to blot your face throughout the day. I like to wash mine every few days so it doesn't get gross. The full size of this comes with two sponges and a hard carrying case with a mirror. In the Play Box I got an extra sponge which I can use if I get lazy and don't feel like washing the other sponges.

The last item I got was the Ouai Wave Spray. This is not something I would normally try, but it's a great size to get in a subscription box. Since it's summer, I will definitely be using this when I get out of the pool to help tame my hair.

Overall, I loved the Sephora Play Box this month! I really love every single product I got this month, and you can't wrong with $10!
