Current Beauty Tryouts #1 | Tarte, elf & Kat Von D

As  a beauty blogger and makeup lover, I am always hauling and trying out new products. Some products make it to my blog as favorites, and other don't even get mentioned. So, I wanted to start a new series on my blog where I talk about and give my first impressions on the makeup I am currently trying out. Let me know in the comments if you enjoy reading these types of posts!

The first thing I've been trying out is the new Tarte Shape Tape Concealer in Fair. I have only been hearing amazing things about this concealer, and for good reason! I've only worn this once but I love how this really brightened my undereye. The best part? IT DIDN'T CREASE. ALL. DAY. I am not kidding you with this stuff! My undereye was matte, didn't crease and the coverage is so amazing. Of course, these are my thoughts after one use, but it seems promising!

Also from Tarte, I've been trying the Tarte Inner Rim Liner Brightener. I love using nude liners on my waterline, but I find they are always too orange. But this is a really nice nude that is not too orange. I only tried this once and it's really creamy and applied nicely to the waterline. But it didn't take long for it to disappear from my waterline. To be fair, my eyes were pretty watery when I tried it, so I'll have to keep testing the staying power.

The next item I've been trying is the e.l.f. Aqua Beauty Molten Liquid Eyeshadow in 'Molten Bronze'. I really love the formula of this! It's a beautiful dark bronze liquid eyeshadow with a pink undertone. It has a doe-foot applicator, which makes it easy to apply to the eyes. It's a little tacky when you apply it so it's a great base for other eyeshadows. Or, you can let it dry and use it as a one-shadow look. Definitely love this so far!

From e.l.f I've also been trying out the e.l.f. Beautifully Bare Total Face Palette. I instantly fell in love with this palette when I saw it! First, the packaging is adorable! I love that the whole thing is a silver mirror, it looks very high end. As for the product inside, I'm really enjoying it. It comes with a highlighter, two blushes and a bronzer. Although these powders are soft and pigmented, I find they are a little light and would not work for darker skin tones. I have fair skin so I love how natural and beautiful all of these products look on the skin, and for $8, it's definitely worth trying!

The last thing I've been trying was a special find, and it is the Kat Von D Shade + Light Blush Duo in 'Mickey & Mallory'. This is a discontinued product from Kat Von D so I found this beauty for $7 (!!!) at TJMaxx. I haven't worn this on the cheeks yet, but when I swatched it, it was probably the softest blush I have ever touched. I love the peachy nude color this creates when you mix the two shades together! It's not extremely pigmented but this shade would work for my fair skin. I'm curious as to why these blushes were discontinued, but I'm happy I was able to try this at a discount!

  1. Whoa that blush palette is stunning, I have only owned one elf makeup product before. Their blushes look really pigmented.

  5. I found one of the Kat Von D blushes at Marshall's for $6.99. I haven't tried it yet, but I'm excited about my find! The Tarte eyeliner doesn't stay on me. I tried it a few times and then returned it. I swatched the Tarte Shape Tape concealer at Ulta today and was amazed. Of course my shade was out of stock! I've got to get it though. It looks so good!

  10. I love how much elf is stepping up their packaging game! That Beautifully Bare palette is beautiful.

but YES can we talk about the Tarte Shape Tape Concealer?! What kind of sorcery does that product contain?! That thing seriously does not crease. I've never been so happy/in love with a concealer my entire life!

  11. I can't wait to get my hands on the Tarte Shape Tape concealer! It's not available in Australia yet, but I'll keep an eye on the Tarte website for when it's back in stock. The Elf palette is gorgeous - I'm in love with nude, barely there blushes. I heard those KVD blushes were discontinued because the formula was inconsistent, some were too dry and not pigmented enough. I am glad you got a good one! :) xx
