Best in Beauty | August 2017

Wow, I cannot believe that August is over! This has been a pretty relaxing month, which means lots of time for trying new makeup and blogging. I tried many new things this month, and these six products made it out on top! I want to apologize in advance because many of you may have read reviews on my blog this month about many of these products, but this is just what I loved, and wanted to include them in my favorites! With that being said, thank you for reading!

Becca Ombre Nudes Eye Palette | $40

I purchased this totally on a whim in the beginning of the month. I had a great coupon at Ulta, and wanted to buy something I thought I would actually use. I came across the palette, swatched it, and fell in love. Although at first glance this palette might look dull, there are so many things you can do with it. It's an all matte palette, with mostly neutral brown shadows. I like to use this as a base palette to get a basic look, and use other shimmery shadows on top. Also, these powders work amazingly well as brow powders. This palette has really become a staple for me over the past month, and I can't wait to continue using it!

The Ordinary Coverage Foundation | $6.70

This foundation has been all over the internet the past few months, and for good reason! This month I did an entire review on The Ordinary makeup line, and this foundation came out as my favorite. I love the color match, the coverage, and how it looks and feels on my skin. And for less than $7? That's amazing! Read my review for all my thoughts!

Colourpop No Filter Concealer in "Fair Neutral 10" | $6

Next up, is a face product I've been using nonstop this month! I was debating if I should do an entire post dedicated to this (let me know in the comments if you do!), but I decided to save it for my monthly favorites. This month Colourpop released a full range of concealers, and everyone went crazy over it. I love this because it is so lightweight and easy to blend. It comes in a clear tube with a flat and long doe-foot applicator, which makes it easy to apply it under the eyes. I blend this out with a beauty sponge and the coverage is flawless and it doesn't crease.

For $6, I definitely plan on possibly picking up other shades to contour, highlight contour and use a spot treatment. For now, I like to use this shade to hide my dark circles. The only downfall of this concealer, as you may read in other reviews, is that the color oxidizes upon first application. However, after it first oxidizes, it stays that color for the rest of the time you wear it.

Essence Lash Princess Volume Mascara | $4.99

My next favorite is a super affordable mascara. In a previous post I spoke about how I love the Essence Lash Princess mascara, but I am loving the volume one so much more! I bought both mascaras at the same time, but the Volume mascara has been sitting in my drawer up until a month ago.

What I love most about this mascara is the curved wand lengthens my lashes, and adds volume. I find the brush on the regular Lash Princess was very big and my lashes could get clumpy if I wasn't careful. With the Volume mascara you have to wipe off the wand, but then it adds enough to your lashes that in lengthens and adds volume. I also find that this doesn't flake throughout the day. For $5, definitely an A+!

Glossier Wowder | $22

Another love for me this month is, of course, a setting powder. These past few months I feel like I am constantly trying and loving new setting powders. This one from Glossier is not only new to me but also the brand this summer. I did a full review on the powder and my experience at their showroom in NYC.  This powder has been amazing for my oily skin to set my foundation, add some coverage and help my makeup last all day. I love how clean the packaging is (in style and functionality), and it's perfect for traveling. This was my first purchase from Glossier, and I definitely want to try more!

Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector in "Lilac Geode" | $38

My last favorite might be a cheat because I technically haven't been using this all month- I really got it last week. But once I saw it, I fell in love and have been using it every single day! Becca just released this limited edition highlighter at Ulta, and it is the most unique highlighter I have ever seen. The base color is a cool light pink, and when it hits the light, it has beautiful gold undertones. This has been beautiful on my fair skin (with a slight tan), and the quality is comparable to their regular highlighters. Also, the packaging and print on the powder is stunning! The light purple also goes perfectly with my blog's theme :) If you can get your hands on this, I highly recommend it, it's stunning!
