Glossier Showroom NYC + Wowder Review | My First Experience with Glossier

Glossier Showroom NYC + Wowder Review | My First Experience with Glossier
There has been so much hype in the beauty community about Glossier, and I've browsed their website on countless occasions but never picked up anything. But I was recently in NYC and remembered that Glossier has a showroom, which wasn't too far from where I was. After browsing the showroom (for a very long time) and playign with everything, I decided to start slow and try their new Wowder.

Wowder

Starting off with the product review, I first heard about Wowder ($22) all over the blogging world the day it released. I never tried anything from Glossier before, but a loose powder is something I was very interested in trying. I never ordered from the website, and I knew I would be near their Showroom in NYC, so I waited until then to play with the product and give it a try.

Starting off with the packaging, I love the light pink container and the label on the front. I also like that the product has the mesh in the middle to keep the product in, and that the cover also prevents the product from spilling out.

As for the product, this comes in three shades: Light/Medium, Dark/Deep and Rich. As someone who is super fair, I got  Light/Medium, and I find this works well for my skin. Sometimes white loose powders can wash me out, and tinted powders can be too late, but this shades works perfectly.

I find that this products work well with a brush and a beauty sponge. On no-makeup days, I dip my brush into the product and dust it over my face. I find that with primer, it mattifies my skin and makes my skin look smooth. When I use it with a sponge to set my foundation, I find it also mattifies and helps make my skin look flawless. Upon first application my skin is matte, but within five-six hours, I tend to get oily and need to blot. However, the powder still keeps my skin looking smooth and my foundation doesn't break up.

This foundation is meant to be paired with their brush (a bundle for $35), but I didn't find the brush to be necessary. It's a great brush, but I have so many brushes that works just as well, and I mostly use this with a beauty sponge.

Overall, I am very pleased with Wowder. For $22, this is an amazing tinted powder that can be used as a light base all over the skin, or to set your makeup for a flawless finish. I am very pleased with my first Glossier purchase, and I definitely want to try more in the future!

Glossier Showroom NYC

If you're in NYC, I highly recommend you checking out the Glossier Showroom! Like I mentioned earlier, I have never tried anything from Glossier, and going to the store gave me a chance to play with their products to see what I would like.

The store is in the penthouse, and it's a decent sized space with all of their products on display to place. There are stations with their face product, lip balms, and a sink area to try some of their skin care products.

It was so so difficult not to buy everything! After you're done playing around, you get a piece of paper and check off what you want to purchase and go wait in line. When you get to the counter, they get you your products and package it in their pink bubble wrap bag, throw in some cute stickers, and put it in a clear bag.

They added so much beautiful detail to the store, from little decor items to cute mirrors and some nice seating. The entire store/experience was amazing and I definitely plan on going back there to play some more!

  5. So, I'm still confused about this product. Is it a tinted setting powder, or a powder foundation? I'd love to try it anyways!
